Our Story
Our dream was to become event planners, because it means the world to us to help others celebrate life’s special moments. Our passion became a career in 2014 when we began A Touch of Southern Events, LLC. Our company has continued to grow and we now have four planners on our team. We all take pride in being from the south where we never meet a stranger and building lasting relationships is a personal priority. Being polite, gracious, thankful, & hospitable are all adjectives our team members strive to be known for. We were raised to love Jesus, drink sweet tea, say “y’all” when referring to more than one person, and know that you are never fully
dressed without a smile. It makes our hearts melt when we get to help clients plan for some of the greatest moments in life. We want to make sure that you get to enjoy every moment of YOUR special day, so let us take care of the logistics and you make the memories!
Live Simply, think BIG
I was born and raised in the North Star of the Carolinas where I was taught to "Live Simply, but Think BIG." Without a doubt I am a Mama's girl who wholeheartedly believes in putting Christ first. My heart is filled with joy when I can turn something old into something new, make someone smile, or check something off of my bucket list. I said "I Do!" to my main squeeze who stole my heart over ten years ago, and I am so thankful to call him my husband. We have the most precious little girl named Madeline (pronounced line, not lyn) who is by far our greatest adventure and accomplishment in life.
I am a Certified Event Planner who is devoted to helping others celebrate both big and small events in life. The best time to celebrate is whenever you can, right?
When I have some free time, you could probably find me at an Elon football game (Go Phoenix!), spending time with my wonderful family and friends, traveling to new places, volunteering in my community, bargain shopping, or enjoying a cupcake at my favorite bakery. Meeting new people is one of my favorite adventures, and I look forward to sharing it with you!

Life's a Party!
Working in the industry has shown me that life is all about celebrations. I’ve found that people are the happiest at gatherings with ones they love. I strive to make sure clients get all they want and deserve during their special moments, whether that be at a wedding, shower, birthday celebration, or anniversary party!
In my free time you will find me with friends or family. I love being around others. I was born and raised in a small town where everyone waves and says hello as if you’ve known each other for years. I believe that with Jesus, strong coffee and a smile - any day can be amazing! I married the love of my life in October 2019 and we are living the dream day by day together. I love to cuddle my fur children and I spend as much time as physically possible with my superhero, my mom. I am also an avid fixer upper and love remodeling, just ask my husband, his honey do list gets longer each day! I guess you could say “I got it from my momma”! I look so forward to getting to know you and I can’t wait to help you plan the celebration of your life!

Hi there! I’m Melissa, and I am originally from a small town in North Carolina known as McLeansville. I am a firm believer in my faith and I live everyday with Christ as my foundation. I believe in leading with grace and to always enjoy the simple things. I am a lover of cooking from scratch, entertaining family and friends, traveling anywhere and everywhere, and spending any free moment with my sweet husband Lucas and our pup Levi! If there is one thing I've learned about myself through life, it's that I love making other people happy. I enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life and it would be an honor to be a small part of your big day! Knowing that I put a smile on someone else's face makes it all worth it to me!

Hey Y'all! I'm a small town girl from eastern North Carolina who loves cheering on the Duke Blue Devils, hanging out on the back porch with friends, and tasting all the local eastern style barbeque I can. I married my best friend, Chris, in 2019 and we are blessed to live life alongside one another and our sweet pup, Nash.
I am a 2w3 on the Enneagram aka "The Helper." I believe in the magic of Disney, and that a trip to TJ Maxx can just about fix any problem you have.
My passion for celebrating life's special moments started at a young age. From planning birthday parties to prom, I've always had a love for design, details, and decor. I'm grateful that I've been able to turn my childhood passion into a career. I look forward to serving you and yours on your special day!
